Bonner County Human Rights Task Force

Located in North Idaho, the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force has been active in the community since 1992. With a membership of well over 300, the Task Force works to promote tolerance, support human dignity, and educate adults and youth across the county.

From its inception, the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force has refused to sit quietly and “let it happen.” The members of the Task Force strive to speak out whenever the rights, the safety, or the dignity of any individual in our community are threatened by intolerance or bigotry. The Task Force is determined to help build a community in which every individual can live without fear or intimidation, a community in which every citizen’s strength and contribution is valued, respected, and encouraged. Please join us.

The Intermountain Fair Housing Council (IFHC), is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure open and inclusive housing for all persons without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, a source of income, or disability. The IFHC attempts to eradicate discrimination through, education on the fair housing laws, housing information and referral, housing counseling, and assistance with mediating and or filing fair housing complaints, among other things. The IFHC also provides education and outreach on fair housing laws and practices to housing providers and others.

KRCC is a recovery community center that exists to advocate for and support individuals seeking to initiate or maintain Recovery from behavioral health and/or substance abuse issues.
 
The FREE peer-based recovery support services provided are fueled by the energy of volunteers who seek to share their experience, strength and hope with others. These non-clinical services focus on removing barriers to recovery by providing support and linking individuals to existing community resources.

North Idaho Diversity Council

North Idaho College, as an institution, has not taken any stance on Black Lives Matter (BLM). Further, the college’s Diversity Council has not developed or held any events in support of the movement, nor has it supported BLM through college resources. The Diversity Council does, however, support constitutionally-protected gatherings that bring greater awareness to social issues faced by minority populations in both rural and urban communities. This is the stance noted in the Council’s statement this summer. The Council will continue to serve as an ally, advocate, and resource for all students and for the community.
